I have a one-year-old nibling that I have realized I can just.. make toys for. This is extremely exciting to me, as a guy who both sews and has the bare-bones of a woodworking woodshop coming together. I'm looking forward to sharing a full write up to the creation of the stuffed elephant that I recently gave them. For now, I can share the thread I wrote on fedi here

I'm mostly recovered from that overworking of my shoulder, but I'm still taking it easy and focusing on doing a slightly edited RecoveryRompwod, as I've been doing a lot of physical things for other projects and I don't want to overwork it. I intend to get the paperwork matching the workout again soon.
I follow printed workout guides that I design for myself and set up using typst! I have written more about it here. It's a in-progress project and I expect I will continue to expound on the experience as time goes on.
I am trying something out this year, BINGO!
As of this update, I've filled in 10 of the squares, and have worked on many more. Dumpsterfest has been scheduled, and as soon as it's been completed I'll have succeeded in at least one BINGO, which is pretty exciting.
While I think that at this point, a full black-out of the board is out of reach for this year, I am surprisingly close to having 4 BINGOs by the end of the year. Given that I was pulled off-track from my expected year for something like two to four months, I'm pretty proud of that.
I have noticed though, that in trying to work on making "new pages" for the website as my BINGO board demands, I've been neglecting this Now page, so I'm going to be changing what my goals are for here moving forward. I think I'm going to aim for the Now page being up-to-date monthly, we'll see how it goes.
The library is almost completely done, it's really just missing the panels for the bench, and maybe a curtain and tie back for the closet. I'm all set to sew a mock up of the front panels as soon as I can find a moment for it.
The #sunrisePottyDoor is still underway, really just waiting now for us to get the framing fixed up and get hardware on it, and I'm two days into patching a couple of spots in the framing that at some point in history appear to have been torn out by a dog, I think it's only going to take another couple, then we can paint it! I have been talking with contractors about coating the flat roofs we have in silicone, and also doing some repair to the front porch roof. This is seperate of the repairs I made a while back to back porch roof.
I've been watching videos of guys sewing, mending and altering clothes over on youtube. From my limited dive, it looks like sashiko/boro inspired designs have become a thing in streetware. It's fascinating to see the differences in that cultural setting to the corresponding sewing/crafting femme-coded space I often find myself watching.
A few friends and I are learning Perl! It's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to sharing the couple of projects I've been working on.
I rolled out a perl version of Nudge while visiting my brother a few weeks ago and hopefully I'll have some fitlang related shenanigans ready to share soon!
I've been trying to strike a balance between keeping up with current events and not destroying my mental health.
.. As a trans person living in the USA, this has been a struggle.
Heck, as a person living in this country, that's a struggle.
